Holegate Bandit, the Senior & Supreme Champion Bull, in our Annual Pedigree Spring and Sale at Melton Mowbray Market on Saturday 23rd March 2024, sold for 10,000 Gns! Bred and Exhibited by Ed Middleton, Lincolnshire, sired by Sharlock Xtreme (the Judge’s top placed Lincoln Red in our 2023 National Herd Competition – Judge was Richard Bartle) out of Donington May V4. Sold to our Judge, Graham Parkinson, Lincolnshire.
Beverley Atomic, from the Clough’s Beverley Herd, Lincolnshire, was Reserve Senior & Reserve Supreme Champion Bull, sired by Beverley Vantage out of Beverley Miss V93, sold to Michael Read’s Hemingby Herd, Lincolnshire, for 5,000 Gns.
Brackenhurst Bellingham, from the Nottingham Trent University’s Brackenhurst Herd, Nottinghamshire, was Junior Champion Bull. Sired by Auchmacoy Xeno out of Brackenhurst Grace V443.
Beverley Braveheart, from the Clough’s Herd, was Reserve Junior Champion Bull, Sired by Beverley Wingman out of Beverley Kelsie U21, sold to Rob Smyth’s Ashfield Herd, Bedfordshire, for 4,100 Gns.
Brackenhurst Beretta, 2nd in his Class, from the Nottingham Trent University’s Brackenhurst Herd, another Auchmacoy Xeno son out of Brackenhurst Rose X494, sold to the Clough’s for 6,700 Gns.
Yarn Hill Bandit, from the Mann’s Yarn Hill Herd, Suffolk, sired by Walmer Yara out of Yarn Hill Elspeth T340, sold to the Skipworth’s Adbury Park Herd, Berkshire.
Holegate Banjo, from Ed Middleton’s Holegte Herd, also a son of Sharlock Xtreme out of Donington Diana V44, sold to John Carrick’s De’Morley Herd, Norfolk.

Supreme Champion Female was Chestnut Tree Mattie B195, a Maiden Heifer from Tom Green’s Chestnut Tree Herd, Lincolnshire. 2022 born Heifer, Sired by Beverley Samson out of Chestnut Tree Mattie X135, sold for 2,000 Gns to a commercial breeder. Her stable mate, Chestnut Tree Limithan Keira B186, also a Beverley Samson daughter out of Chestnut Tree Limithan Keira U88, sold to the same buyer for 1,800 Gns.
Reserve Supreme Champion Female was Highbarn Ruby B250, a Maiden Heifer from Nick Barton’s Highbarn Herd, Cheshire. Sired by Donington Yuri out of Highbarn Ruby U171.
Holyoak Corin B30, from Mr R J & Mrs G Goodwin’s Holyoak Herd, Leicestershire, 2022 born Heifer, Sired by Highbarn Xion out of Wragby Corin V222, sold to a commercial breeder for 1,500 Gns.
